In response to the Government restrictions of essential works due to the Covid-19 pandemic many premises have had to take drastic action to help mitigate the spread of the virus which has included the closure or limited operations of many including buildings, schools, universities, and non-essential facilities. This has resulted in the shutdown of existing infrastructures such as heating, ventilation and air conditioning, lifts, security systems, fire and life safety systems, cleaning and more.

As the premier Risk Management Group in the property industry across all sectors, we strongly advise you to check your premises are “Fit to Occupy” before you authorise your staff, tenants and contractors prior to reoccupying your site.

As part of our commitment, we at InteRisk have workshopped how we can help facilitate the process. We can offer our team of specialist, Engineers, Health, Safety, Environmental, Security, Property and Facilities personnel to conduct reviews to give you the comfort that you are ready to open.

We have put together two options to help you through the reopening process to review and confirm your site is fit to occupy, our process is completed in strict compliance to the latest responsible distancing and health guidelines. The options include a site review conducted by us with a “Fit to Occupy” certificate issued and secondly for remote and or difficult to access sites we have prepared a detailed desktop review and evidence standard that will lead to a “Deemed” Fit to Occupy, certificate on the basis that the standards will be confirmed remotely.

CBD commercial buildings, large retail complexes and industrial sites will be visited by our team. Residential complexes, day care & aged care facilities as well as the more remote and small sites may be carried out using the “Deemed” Fit to occupy, process.

What The Two Options Look Like:

FIT TO OCCUPY, SITE REVIEW & CERTIFICATE

We will attend site and complete a physical review of the existing building infrastructures, including:

• Onsite audit of existing building infrastructures and review service maintenance and integration.
• Detailed report on findings.
• Provide recommendations for rectification of non-operational or non-conformance items.
• Issue of a Fit to Occupy Certificate on completion.

“DEEMED” FIT TO OCCUPY DESKTOP AUDIT AND CERTIFICATE

We will complete a desktop audit of existing building infrastructures, including:

• Desktop review of existing building infrastructures service maintenance and integration.
• Detailed report on desktop findings.
• Provide recommendations for rectification of non-operational or non-conforming items.
• Issue a “Deemed” Fit to Occupy Certificate on completion.
