World Day for Safety & Health at Work
The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an annual international campaign to promote safe, healthy and decent work.
A national occupational safety and health culture is one in which the right to a safe and healthy working environment is respected at all levels, where employers and employees actively participate in securing a safe and healthy working environment.
With so many employers and employees faced with the need to adjust how they work during the COVID-19 pandemic it is important to understand the range of flexible working arrangements that employers and employees can explore together. These include:
- working from home
- changing the number of hours an employee works
- changing the start or finish times of employees’ shifts
- changing patterns of work, such as rostering arrangements
- changing the type of work done by employees.
Flexibility in the workplace allows employers and employees to make arrangements about working conditions that will suit them.
